PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Terracotta Tile Roofing Waterproofing: Is your roof old, and are the terracotta tiles covered in green deposits, stains, or have they become porous, allowing moisture to pass through? This can make the tiles more fragile and prone to cracking, leading to leaks. It's important to know that terracotta tiles, whether new or old, are naturally porous. Therefore, they need protection to ensure their longevity and prevent cracking. That's why Arcane Industries has developed a waterproofing sealant in our French factory, specifically formulated to meet the needs of terracotta tiles. PRODUCT BENEFITS One of the best invisible waterproofing treatments to protect your terracotta roof for a long time. 100% colorless, does not change the appearance of your terracotta tiles. Extends the lifespan of terracotta tiles. Extremely durable, effective for up to 10 years: solvent-based product, twice as durable and resistant as a water-based product. Beading effect. Unlike many waterproofing products, our sealant does not yellow in the sun. Ready to use. No dilution is necessary. Microporous, allowing the substrate to breathe. Improves thermal insulation by reducing moisture in building materials. Can be covered with renderings or paints. USE Roofs ELIGIBLE MATERIALS Terracotta tiles that are not cracked or micro-cracked. If there are cracks, a sealant resin is recommended. Terracotta tiles APPLICATION REQUIRED TOOLS Brush - Brush - Roller - Sprayer Cleaning equipment: White Spirit. PREPARATION OF THE SURFACE Clean, dust, brush, and/or scrape the surfaces before application, removing all dirt. Materials must be dry and dust-free before any treatment. Protect plants and vegetation. If runoff flows directly onto the facade (a rare case), protect it with a tarp. Remove green deposits, algae, lichens, and mold using our FUNGICIDE TREATMENT. Do not use bleach, as it is too corrosive and can damage your tiles. Cleaning green deposits will be done in two steps: spraying the fungicide treatment and then letting it act. Be sure to secure yourself when working on a sloping roof. Do not walk on the roof on treated areas, as they will be slippery. It should not rain for 12 hours after the treatment. After 48 hours (the green deposit will turn black), clean with a medium-pressure pressure washer to avoid lifting the tiles. Always work in the direction of the slope, not against it, and if there are areas that resist, scrape with a metal brush. Efflorescences and efflorescence must be removed by washing with slightly acidified water followed by rinsing. The surface must be absorbent and porous. APPLICATION Ready to use. No dilution is necessary. Mix the product well before application. The terracotta waterproofing is applied to a dry surface in a single coat until it is fully absorbed, without returning to surfaces that have already been treated. (As long as the surface "absorbs" the product, continue applying. The product must be completely absorbed by the surface.) RECOMMENDATIONS Do not dilute with white spirit, as this will reduce its effectiveness. The tiles must be perfectly dry throughout before application. Always work from the bottom up. Do not apply if the temperature is above 35°C or if there is strong wind, rain, or snow. Legal mentions: Keep out of reach of children. Use Personal Protective Equipment.
